Fun times on Friday! I took my brother to visit Moor View Alpacas, as I'd arranged to pop over and meet the fleece makers, having had coffee and a major plotting session with Emma a few weeks ago!
It was a beautiful sunny day, and inspite of my abysmal directions we did arrive eventually...First we met Lolly Pop, a Valais Black Nosed Lamb. She really is beyond cute!!
Next we pottered on up to the alpaca pens and met the ladies. having recently been shorn, they put me in the mind of Dwayne Dibbley (The Cat's alter ego in Red Dwarf). There was a brand spanking new baby alpaca and a several expectant mothers, we also met the two most chilled out rams in the world (VBN) they have gigantic curly horns but are more like affable labradors than sheep.
I love the fact that alpacas like to sunbathe!
I LooooVe the drop spindle Emma gave me!
So we had some coffee, set the world to rights and I came away with some gorgeous caramel coloured alpaca fleece and a baggie of VBN wool, needless to say I did not get a lot done in the afternoon as I was severely distracted by the raw VBN wool, which I think makes a beautiful single ply even uncarded.
This then led to me buying a set of carders over the weekend...so I probably ought to be getting on with all the usual drudgery that needs doing, before my new toys arrive and render me incapable of domesticity
